Inquiry Now In 8th Week

(N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) LONDON, August 13. Miss Margaret Ricardo, who admitted perjury as a witness in the Ward trial, was interviewed by Lord Denning yesterday, the ‘‘Daily Telegraph” reported. For 50 minutes he questioned her about the former War Minister, Mr Profumo, the Russian diplomat, Eugene Ivanov, and Dr. Stephen Ward.

Lord Denning is carrying out an investigation of security aspects of the Profumo scandal. In the inquiry, now in its eighth week, more than 150 witnesses have given evidence.

Miss Ricardo said Lord Denning had also asked her about the party at which a reputedly well-known man was alleged to have appeared naked in a black mask. She had not been present at the party but had given Lord Denning the name of the hostess.

Miss Ricardo, a self-con-fessed prostitute, said Lord Denning had also questioned her about her clients. She had told him they were well-to-do and influential people, but she had not given him names.

Miss Ricardo said she had not been questioned by Scotland Yard in the present inquiry into the Ward case. She said 10 police statements had been taken from her during inquiries before Dr. Ward’s arrest
