CADETS FOR AUSTRALIA

Week-End Jobs Give Funds (tiZ. Press Association) WELLINGTON, August 14. Part-time jobs and weekend work over the last few months have enabled boys from Vie No. 1 (Wellington) Squadron of the Air Training Corps to visit Australia in. the coming school holidays. The 26-strong cadet party accompanied by two A.T.C. officers will fly to and from Australia, leaving Wellington on August 24 and returning on September 8. While in Australia the cadets will be guests of the Royal Australian Air Force and will be accommodated at R A.A.F. bases.

The oustanding feature of the visit will be their stay at an Australian Air Training Corps camp being held at the Royal Australian Air Force base, Richmond, near Sydney. Visits to other R.A.A.F. bases and places of interest around Sydney will be included. In charge of the 26 boys—aged between 15 and 18—will be the squadron commander. Flight Lieutenant M. D. Burns, of Wellington. With him will be the training officer. Flight Lieutenant C. A. Kerr, also of Wellington.
