The chairman of the National Parks Authority, Mr R J Maclachlan. DirectorGeneral of Lands, said today that it had been found inconvenient to have the chief executive officer of the authority in Christchurch when the authority's headquarters were in Wellington The two Nelson parks were really more accessible from Wellington than from Christchurch and that made the nine national parks equally accessible from Wellington, but, in any case, having the chief officer in Christchurch meant a lot of correspondence and it had been decided to bring him to Wellington, where the authority met, he said
