The Nigerian Federal Public Service said in its annual report that “Nigerianisation” of government posts, “should no longer be a political issue.”

The report for last year said Nigerians now occupied 78 per cent, of Federal Government positions, four per cent, more than the previous year and expatriate (European) officers on Government payroll dropped by about 20 to 956. At the end of the year only three permanent secretaries were expatriates. “Most of the higher posts in the service are now filled by Nigerians and Nigerianisation should no longer be a political issue,” the report said
