House Almost In Sea
(N.Z. Press Association) BLENHEIM, August 8. One of the show places T>f the Marlborough Sounds, Konini Lodge, owned by Mr and Mrs E. Coomibs, of Christchurch, was swept almost into the sea at the height of a southerly gale which lashed the Cook Strait and sounds yesterday. Situated in Torea Bay, on the northern side of Queen Charlotte Sound, the house is almost a write-off.
A huge slip tumbled from the hill about 800 ft above the house, cutting a 50-yard swathe and taking everything before it to the water’s edge.
