P.T.A. Shield For Ricearton H.S.
Ricearton High School retained the P.T.A Shield in matches against Kaikorai Valley High School at Dunedin. The results were:—
Girls’ Basketball. A teams: Kaikorai won. 23-12; B teams: Kaikorai won. 27-11. Giris’ indoor basketball: Kaikorai won. 12-9. Girls’ hockey: Ricearton won. 6-1. Rugby: Ricearton won, 11-3. Soccer: Ricearton won. 6-2. In a boys’ hockey match against Waitaki Boys’ High School, Ricearton lost. 2-4.
Title Winner Jack Hood, of Australia, yesterday won the West German international amateur golf championship. The 43-year-old Melbourne plaver beat R. Moss, of the United States 2 and 1. in the 36-hole final.—(P.A.)
