FILTRATION PROCESSES

Seminar To Be Held In City

A technical seminar on filtration processes for representatives of the many industries using filtration, including brewing, sugar, and chemical industries, will be held at Heatherlea, Christchurch, on August 30. The seminar is being organised by A. M. Satterthwaite and Company. Ltd., in conjunction with the dicalite department of the Great Lakes Carbon Corporation of America. which supplies worldwide distribution of the four principal types of filteraids. Specific subjects to be discussed are: principles of filtration, filtration equipment, materials, practical answers to plant filtration problems and how the laboratory can assist in filtration problems. Small test filters and audio-visual slides will be used to demonstrate techniques.

Supervision and assistance at the meeting will be provided by Mr W. F. Peden, assistant sales manager of the American company, and Mr G. G. Halvorsen, manager of technical services. The wo men will offer assistance in the solution of special technical filtration problems and will be able to supplement technical papers to be presented with many years of practical experience in industries throughout the world.
