Heel Caps Issued

Plastic heel caps were handed out to women wearing spike heels before they made a tour of inspection through the new Scottford House at the Girls’ Training Centre, Burwood, on Saturday. “There is not a mark on the parquet floor in the girls’ lounge and diningroom, nor on the lino tiles in the vestibule and kitchen,” the princnpal (Mrs K. Ford) said last evening. “You would never know such a crowd had been through the building. Frankly, I was worried about stiletto heels on the new floors, but the plastic caps saved the situation.” Many of the women kept the heel caps they had worn as a souvenir.
