By-Election For Benn

The first step was taken yesterday for Anthony Wedgwood Benn's return to the House of Commons now that he has won his fight to give up his peerage—he was Viscount Stansgate—and to be officially plain “Mr." The Speaker of the House of Commons (Sir Harry Hyl-ton-Foster), issued a writ authorising a by-election to take place at Bristol Southeast caused by the resignation of Mr Malcolm St. Clair, the Conservative member.
