Airstrip For Chateau
(N.Z. Press Association) NEW PLYMOUTH, Aug. 4. Investigations should be made to find a suitable site for a new airstrip at the Chateau, Tongariro. it was decided at the quarterly meeting of tihe Tongariro National Park Board at the Chateau at the week-end. The board considered thait a site should be found, close to the park, for an airstrip that would be suitable for development for use by commercial aircraft. This would be better than persisting with the existing airstrip which was not suitable for development. it was said. It was decided to make further investigations and to refer the matter to the appropriate authorities for consideration.
