FORECAST TO MIDNIGHT Situation.—An anti-cyclone centred near Auckland is moving eastwards and extends over most of New Zealand. A cold front is advancing across the south Tasman and a strong north-westerly airstream ahead of it prevails over Fiordland. Forecast:— Canterbury.—Light to moderate variable winds, north-easterlies predominating about the coast. Weather fine, with mild afternoon temperatures. Outlook: occasional light rain developing. Marlborough and Nelson.—Strong north-wester-lies about the Sounds, with cloudy skies and a few light showers. Elsewhere light to moderate northwesterly winds predominating.
