Specially-invited guests included the club's patron. Group Captain J. D. Robins, and Mrs Robins; Brigadier T. C. Campbell, officer commanding Southern Military District, and Mrs Campbell; Commander R. M. T. O’Connor, R.N.Z.N.V.R., commanding officer of H.M.N.Z.S. Pegasus. and Mrs O'Connor; and Lieutenant-Commander P. Rendelson, United States Navy. Guests were welcomed by the vice-president of the club. Flight Lieutenant R. C. Dunn, who deputised for the president, Lieutenant-Commander W. Harris,

Mrs Robins wore a gown of nylon organza, in shades of bl-ie. It was designed with a draped bodice, and fullness to the back of the skirt.
