Golf WILLS £2000 TOURNAMENT

Strong Aust. Challenge

Seven Australian professional golfers—K. Nagle. B Devlin. J. C. Davis, E. Ball. R. Tuohy. W. Dunk, and F. Phillips—have entered for the Wills Classic £2OOO tournament to be held at the Russley Golf Club course on September 5, 6. and 7. Before the entries close next week, it is expected that P. W. Thomson. B. Crampton, and S. Carmichael, an American professional, will join the other overseas challengers. Among the New Zealand professionals who have entered are T. A. Brady, F. X. Buckler. A. E. Guy. T. A. Harrison. N. D. Hayden. E A. Soutlherden, W. S. White, and B. Coxon. Coxon is an Australian professional who recently joined the Hokowhitu Golf Club at Palmerston North.

Several prominent Christchurch amateur golfers have entered, and two Australian amateurs. A. Murray and D. Mercer, are expected to play.
