Week’s Trading Ends On Brisk Note

Trading on New Zealand stock exchanges ended the week on a brisk note with 110 issues changing hands. New Zealand shares showed 20 rises, nine falls and 54 unchanged, while overseas issues were roughly in balance.

The best gains by New Zealand shares were D.1.8.A. Is 3d. Andrews and Beaven Is, Wormaid 2s, and Farmers’ Fertiliser B, ex dividend and coming into line with the old shares, 3s.

Herald and Weekly Times rose 7s 6d to 57s 6d, in first business since May 15, following a stronger trend on the home market.
