Geological Work In Canada

A University of Canterbury graduate, Mr J. C. Foweraker. has completed his doctorate of philosophy in geology at the Washington University of St. Louis, Missouri. Mr Foweraker attended Christ’s College, and after completing his M.Sc. at Canterbury he joined the Bureau of Mineral Resources in Canberra in 1952. He worked in the Northern Territory and on the site of the Cotter Dam while in Australia.

Travelling to Canada. Mr Foweraker worked with the Canadian Exploration Company in British Columbia, the Hudson Bay area and the Yukon, before returning to university in Missouri to complete his doctorate two years ago.

He lectured at the university while he completed his research and thesis. Mr Foweraker is married to an Australian. They have one son, and hope to return to New Zealand shortly. They are at present living in Victoria, Vancouver Island.
