10 Tons Taken At Rotorua

In efforts to eliminate brown trout from Lake Rotorua. the Internal Affairs Department at Rotorua has now killed 10 tons of them
The scheme began lasi November to determine the effect on rainbow trout in the lake.
Brown trout represent an estimated 40 per cent, of the trout population there, but only 5 per cent, of fishermen's catches are brown. The fish are being converted in Auckland to fishmeal.
