Unemployment Figures
Unemployment in Christchurch last month was onethird less than in July last year, said the district superintendent of the Labour Department (Mr C. P. Collins* Last month there were 106 unemployed men, 67 of them receiving the unemployment benefit and 16 unemployed women, eight on benefit. During the month work had been found tor 263 men and 42 women. “The employment position is quite good tor this tune of the year.” he said.
