POLITICAL MEETINGS
M.P. Asked To Explain Mr N E. Kirk, M.P., for Lyttelton, was called on yesterday to prove the validity of a reported remark in Parliament that members of the National Party had been paid to disrupt Labour Partv political meetings. Mr C C A. McLachlan, chairman of the CanterburyWestland division of the National Party, challenged Mr Kirk to substantiate his remarks or to withdraw them and apologise. The party had never used its funds to employ persons to disrupt or disorganise its opponents' meetings. Mr McLachlan said It had always tried to plav the game bv its opponents
