INCREASE IN SEPSIS

Sepsis cases have been increasing in the last seven years.. From 1956 to 1960 the proportion of sepsis cases in all compensable accidents rose from 12.9 per cent, to 18 per cent.

A more detailed analysis was made of the 1958 figures, and it was found that the greatest percentage of sepsis cases occurred in the food manufacturing industry, 29 per cent., and the footwear industry, 27 per cent.
