HAIR-DRESSING SALONS

Saturday Morning Opening Sought (N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, July 22. Brides, bridesmaids and young mothers were some of the people who would be helped if hair-dressers were able to open their shops on Saturday mornings, said Mrs J Morrison (Remuera) at the National Party conference today. Mrs Morrison was proposing a remit that the Shops and Offices Amendment Act be altered to give greater freedom to those such as hairdressers, who wished to give service on Saturday mornings provided they complied with the Arbitration Court award for their staff. The remit was approved by one of the four committees considering remits and will be placed before the whole conference tomorrow.
