Roller Skating CHAMPIONSHIPS BEGIN
A. Nixon Retains Speed Title The experienced A. Nixon won the senior men’s twomile speed title for the third year in succession when the Canterbury Roller Skating Club's 1963 championships opened at Canterbury Court last night. Nixon was hard pressed throughout the race by F. Britt who passed him on one occasion, but Nixon regained the lead to score a fine win. Nixon's younger brother. P. Nixon, won the intermediate men's two-mile speed event by half a lap from his closest rival.
