CONTROL OF RABBITS

Check Wanted On Boards (Parliamentary Reporter) ■ WELLINGTON, July 24. He hoped the Rabbit Destruction Council was checking apathy in rabbit boards where infestation had reached low levels, the Minister of Agriculture (Mr Taiboys) said in Parliament today. Mr J H George (Government, Otago Central) asked if Mr Taiboys had seen a statment by the council chairman that the work of a majority of boards was static and that some were going back in their fight against the rabbit. Mr Taiboys said the question of whether the council was using its finance to the best advantage was among matters to be studied by committees the Government was setting up with Federated Farmers and other interested bodies.
