The Lyttelton Borough Empowering Bill was introduced when Parliament resumed yesterday afternoon.
Papers tabled included the reports of the State Services Commission and the Geraldine and Masterton licensing trusts.
A discussion on a notice of motion relating to the World Bank occupied the afternoon It was “talked out" without a vote being taken.
The Budget debate was resumed last night, the speakers being:— Opposition: Mr W. E. Rowling (Buller), Sir Eruera Tirikatene (Southern Maori), Mr A. J. Faulkner (Roskill). Government: The Minister of Defence (Mr Eyre), Mr R. D. Muldoon (Tamaki), the Minister of Lands (Mr R. G. Gerard).
