BY-ELECTION CANDIDATE

Spokesman For Teen-Agers

(N.Z.PA -Reuter—Copyright) STRATFORD-ON-AVON, July 21

A pop singer, "Screaming Lord Sutch,” announced today that he will stand in the Stratford by-election caused by the resignation of Mr Profumo. Sutoh. a £5OO-a-week singer with 16in-long hair, said he would stand as an independent candidate. He would begin his campaign next month with a march by teenagers carrying placards: “Vote for Sutch and Gain Much.” No date has been announced yet for the by-elec-tion.

Sutch said the Profumo affair was “an absolute scandal." He said: “There are still some young people about with a sense of responsibility. “Polities are too compli-

cated and I intend to explain them to the language that any teen-ager can understand." he said. “I am sure I will get a lot of votes as I have always gone down well in the dance halls here.”
