SAVED BY TRAILER

(N.Z. Press Association)

WELLINGTON. July 22.

A trailer connected to a tractor stopped a Titahi bay man, Mr D. Langridge, from being crushed on Saturday. Mr Langridge, part-time greenkeeper at the Titahi Bay Golf Club, tried to jump clear when the tractor he was driving slid over a bank but his trouser leg caught in the gear lever and he was pinned under the left, rear wheel.

He lay helpless, in danger of being crushed, as the machine hovered uncertainly. It then reacted to the weight of the trailer and fell back. Mr Langridge was extricated suffering only alight bruising to the leg.
