OFFER FOR PROPERTY
Tourist Firm Seeks Site Mount Cook and Southern Lakes Tourist Company, Ltd., hat made an offer to purchase the Riccarton road site of Martin Ormandy, Ltd,, manufacturers and distributors of concrete products. The site coven about lj Acres and is one of the few large blocks of land fronting the eastern end of Riccarton road with a comparatively low capital value. , The tourist company, it is understood, plans to develop the site as Its Christchurch headquarters if its offer succeeds. The company at present has an office in New Regent street and a coach terminal and freight office in Cashel street, east.
The principals of both firms were loath to discuss their plans last evening, but they confirmed that an offer was under consideration and that an option on the site was due to expire early next month.
