Quiet Opening To Week’s Trading
.Share trading opened the week quietly on New Zealand stock exchanges yesterday. Only 23 of the 80 issues that changed hands were in the overseas section.
Best gain among New Zealand issues was a 3s 6d rise by Dunlop in sales at 655. Last business was only two weeks ago. J. Wattienew, traded for the first time since a 5s call was made on July 10, rose 6s lid to 10s 6d, while Allen Industries firmed Is 5d to 13s in first ex-dividend business.
Mount Isa gained a further Is 9d to 73s 6d, while Australian market leaders Ansett, A.C.1., and C.S.R. and Woolworths lost ground.
