PRODUCTION COSTS
Inquiry Move Rejected (N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, July 22. A remit asking the Government to establish independent tribunals to investigate production costs in New Zealand primary and secondary industries was lost after a long debate at a National Party conference committee today. Several speakers said that it was a job for producer boards, and councils - and committees already set up by the Government. Mr I. R. Wills (Awarua) moved an amendment that effective action be taken, including freeing the exchange rate if necessary, but this amendment was also lost
