MAN DIES IN FIRE

(N.Z Press Association) ROTORUA. July 22. A labourer was burned to death in his single accommodation Ministry of Works hut at Taupo early this morning He was Robert Frank Johnson, aged 31. married His wife lives in Auckland Soon after midnight a mar, in a neighbouring hut went outside to investigate a •‘crackling noise” and a glow. He saw a hut engulfed in flames and gave the alarm, to the Taupo Volunteer Fire Brigade. When the brigade arrived the flames had such a bold nothing could be done to save the building. Firemen later carried out the body. TTie cause of the fire is not known.
