Group Profit Steady (N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, July 19. In spite of a drop of 4 percent .in timber footage sold, group profit of Carter Consolidated, Ltd., Auckland timber merchant, was held at last year’s level. The result for the year to March 31 was £340 up at £127,753. Earning rate on average ftmds has marginally improved from 11.7 per cent, to 11.9 per cent, while that on average capital is down from 23 per cent, to 20.8 per cent Depreciation The profit was arrived at after setting aside £6706 more for depreciation at £114.219 (including £17,340 special), paying £8579 more in interest at £22,580 and providing £17,058 less for taxation at £136,958.

As reported, the ordinary dividend will be 11 per cent, and requires £2535 less at £70,050. It compares with the 12j per cent, last year, which included a 2} per cent, bonus.
