SYDNEY
Market leaders Were generally stronger on the Sydney Stock Exchange yesterday. The banking section led the advance with the Bank of New South Wales firming 7s 6d to a new high level of £54 10s. Mining stocks were ■ stranger in lighter trading Industrial turnover - was slightly down on Thursday's levels. Ampol rights and Ducon Industries were the most actively traded stocks.

The week’s market closed fully firm yesterday, with rises covering a wide range of stocks. Australian Paper Manu-
facturers gained after the announcement of a big lift in profits. Retailers also improved with Myer gaining 4d to 37s lOd. B.H.P. rose 6d to 565, and oils and base metals mostly moved around steady levels Mount Isa to gain, and closed up Is at 86s 9d. Loans were steady. Sales.—A. G.
