RINDLESS CHEESE

New Design For Press (N.Z, Press Association) PALMERSTON NORTH, July 18. Vacuum-pressed rindless cheese has become a secret weapon in the drive for export markets and higher quality produce. A revolutionary press has been evolved at the Dairy Research Institute near Palmerston North, and the prototype model was made at the Hawera branch of the National Dairy Association. On Sunday it will be taken to an undisclosed destination in Waikato for preliminary trials with a 10001 b vat of curd instead of the usual 40 or 601 b pressing. If the trials show a need for major alterations, the machine will be returned from the Waikato factory to Hawera. but it is expected that only minor refinements will be indicated Tn that case, the designer. Dr P. S. Robertson, of the Dairy Research Insitute, will have it returned to the laboratories near Palmerston North where he produced the original design.
