Waimairi Council’s Plans

A scheme to add a new council chamber, a chairman’s room and a committee clerk’s room with the necessary amenities in a first-floor structure projecting behind the existing Waimairi County Council offices at the corner ot Clyde road and Jeffreys road was approved by the council on Thursday evening. When the architect has drawn up detailed plans for the 2300 sq. ft addition tenders will be called in about two months The new council room will be larger than the present one. which will be used to accommodate eight traffic officers and some of the engineering staff. The projecting addition will stand on piers, providing parking space underneath. This may be enclosed later.
