144,000 Coins In Penny Pile
(N.Z. Press Association) INVERCARGILL, July 9. Patrons in Invercargill hotels in six months have thrown loose change worth £6OO into boxes erected by the Lions Club to assist intellectually handicapped children in the city. The coins, arid some £35 in notes, have been collected once a week by the Lions and put on a penny pile in an Invercargill shop, which now contains about 144,000 coins.
