NEW PLANE FOR AERO CLUB

Cessna 310 May Be Purchased (N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, July 8. A twin-engined Cessna 310 is likely to be obtained to augment the Wellington Aero Club’s air taxi fleet of two single-engined Cessnas. The new aircraft will be fully instrumented so that it can fly under instrument flight rules. It will cruise at about 220 miles an hour and will have a range of about 1000 miles.

It is planned to bring the aircraft into New Zealand as a replacement for the Apache the club had on order last year. The Apache crashed at ‘Nandi airftprt while being demonstrated by the maker’s representative during its delivery flight to New Zealand.
