Rejoined With Children

(N.Z. Press Assn. —Copyright) MELBOURNE, July 7. With tears in his eyes, a 29-year-old Italian migrant, Carmelo Spurio, embraced his six children in turn as they filed off a plane at Melbourne airport yesterday. The children, whose ages range from 15 years to 11 months, travelled alone from Italy to join their father. Mr Spurio came to Melbourne a year ago to prepare a home for them. , His wife died in childbirth a month after he left, and the eldest child, Rosina, acted as mother for the family.

About 30 members of Melbourne’s Italian community were at the airport with Mr Spurjo to greet the children. When they arrived at their new home, the children found it stocked with food and toys given by friends.
