Director Sent To Prison
(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, July 8. A 60-year-old company director spent £19,000 of other people's money trying to develop an invention patented over 12 years ago, said Mr A. A. Coates, S.M., in the Magistrate’s Court at Auckland today. He sent lan Sinclair MacDonald to prison for eight months after MacDonald admitted 13 charges of false pretences, and two charges of obtaining credit by fraud, involving £314. Mr Coates said that MacDonald had on his own admission not been in employment since 1948.
