Collapsed In Court

(N.Z Press Association) AUCKLAND, July 6. A man who collapsed with a heart attack after appearing in the dock in the Magistrate’s Court at Auckland today, was taken from the court on a stretcher. Be is William Herbert Stephens, aged 45, a fruiterer, who appeared on a charge of unlawfully using an instrument to procure an abortion. He was remanded until July 16.

His wife rushed into the court to assist him, and he was later taken to the casualty ward at Auckland Hospital. Two other persons whose names were suppressed appeared with Stephens and were also remanded until July 16.
