Fine Run In Hurdles
(N.Z. Press Assn.— Copyright) MELBOURNE, July 7. The world record holder, Coltara, outclassed ills rivals to win the £4150 Grand National Hurdles by 25 lengths at Flemington yesterday. Coltara started third favourite at 7/2. Equal favourites were With Discretion and the New Zealand hurdler Teneriffe. at 3/1. Coltara, which took charge half a mile from home, won as he liked from Grecian Valour. Teneriffe. owned by Mrs G. J. von Dadelszen and ridden by the New Zealand jockey. P. Mohi, finished third. Three of the nine runners came to grief during the race, but Limber Hill was remounted and completed the course to finish last. Big Brother lost his rider after travelling half a mile and the New Zealand horse. Blue Gum, was pulled up several furlongs from home. Tile New Zealand filly. Our Fun, starting favourite at 11/8 won the First Two-year-old Mile yesterday after appearing a 50 to 1 chance two furlongs from home. Our Fun made a briHiant run and gathering in Sugarmagundi about 20 yards from the post to win by half a length. Grenadier was half a length away, third. Our Fun and Grenadier dominated the betting.
