This was made up of win and place bets amounting to £186,218 and £207,180 5s was Invested on doubles. The total on the corresponding day last yoar, when three meetings were held, was £27,134 5s higher. Details: Avondale On-course: £137.148 ss: up £8607 10s. Off-course: £138,024 Ss; down £6004 ss. Wellington On-eourse: £187,205 10s: np £18,630. Off-course: £285474; up £31,434 15s.
