THREADWORMS PREVALENT

Where a child had threadworms, it was best if the whole family was treated for the complaint, the Medical Officer of Health (Dr. L. F. Jepson) said yesterday. These worms were very prevalent among children, and a common cause of sleeplessness, he added.

Family treatment was advisable because a member of the family who had been treated could be reinfested by other members if they were not all treated a>t the same time. Although the worms were most usually in children. adults could also be infested.

Over the last few years a drug has been developed which would give a high degree of control of the worms. Dr. Jepson said.
