FOUR YOUTHS CHARGED

Alleged Aid To Escaper (N.Z. Press Association) GISBORNE. July 6 Four youths were charged today with becoming an accessory after the fact to the escape of Jordan William Cross from the Gisborne gaol on May 4. Three of the youths appeared before Mr L. N. Ritchie, S.M., in the Magistrate's Court and the fourth in the children’s court Spencer Martin Rare, aged 19. a workman, Joseph Haenga, aged 21, a Poleplanter, and Colin lan Costain, aged 21, a driver, were jointly charged. Detective-Sergeant B. H. Constable said that the cases coqld not be heard against the youths until the charges against the principal had been heard after the opening of the Supreme Court at Auckland on July 23. Rare, Haenga and Contain were remanded in custody, by consent, until July 30.
