FARMING IN S. AFRICA
CAPE TOWN. A millionaire British farmer has such great faith in the future of fanning in South Africa that he has invested in 14,000 acres in Natal, where he is now producing beef, wool, mutton, and potatoes on a big scale, states the farming editor of the “Johannesburg Star.” He is Mr Clifford Nicholson, who from a small start made himself one of the biggest farmers in Britain. At present Mr Nicholson owns 10,000 acres at Dargle -in the Impendle area, and two farms, one at Nottingham Road and the other at Kamberg. He runs 1800 head of beef cattle—Hereford bulls and Hereford Africander crossbred cows—also 5000 Corriedale sheep for wool and mutton as well as crossbred Suf-folk-Corriedale for fat lamb production.
