Drizzle Reduces Sports Fixtures
With playing fields in the dty well soaked and in many cases bearing surface water after three days of persistent drizzle, the number of sports fixtures set down for today has been drastically curtailed.
All Rugby competition matches except those in the senior, senior reserve and under-19 grades have been postponed. The competitions committee of the Canterbury Rugby Union decided yesterday morning that too much damage would be done to the grounds if matches were played.
