SAFETY BELTS IN BUSES URGED

(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, July 5. Safety belts for drivers of school buses were considered essential by the annual conference of the Women’s Division of Federated Farmers. It was decided to urge the Education Department to suppi v safety betas to the drivers and to make their use compulsory. “In most school buses, the driver sits in a single seat and could easily be thrown forward against the instrument panel and lose control, endangering the lives of the chilaren he is transporting.” said Mrs N. Lowman (Waitomo).
