(Parliamentary Reporter) WELLINGTON, July 4. Interest in raffles and housie is declining, according to figures in the annual report of the Department of Internal Affairs, tabled in Parliament today Licences issued by the Department during the year ended March 31, 1963, for raffles with prizes ranging in value from £25 to £5OO. numbered 7642 compared with 8225 the previous year. Four mystery-envelope campaigns were licensed, compared with 12 the previous year and 32 in 1960-61.

Applications by organisations seeking to be approved for conducting and • playing housie numbered 396. compared with 480 the previous year.
