Druids’ Ball
The emblem of the United Ancient Order of Druids decorated the hall of the Woolston Working Men’s Club last evening for the annual Druids Ball. About 380 persons, including many younger members, attended
Guests of honour were Mr P. S. Corkin (worthy grand president of the No. 1 Royal Arch Chapter) and Mrs Corkin. Other specially-invited guests included representatives of kindred societies They were welcomed by Mr B. C Thomas. Royal Arch Druid of the Christchurch Chapter. Mrs Corkin wore' "a floorlength gown of silvery brocade. patterned in bld gold, with a darker-toned sash It was designed with (a round front neckline deepening to a V at the back, and fullness was given to the slim skirt by back pleating. The feature of the evening was the grand march, which was led by Mr Corkin. M mbers of the committee organising the ball included: Mesdames O E Hay and G Good, Miss F. Donaldson. Messrs B. C. Thomas, C. Belcher, R. Hay, H Drewery, E Gay. R. Aitken. F. Legge, S A Miller, and V. J. Henry.
