Veterans’ Homes

Sir, —I heartily agree with “First Things First.” Mr Farrar’s idea of lotteries to help the needy returned men and their dependants is not a bad one, though there will be many who will disagree. Money must come from somewhere, and I would say, by all means tot us have lotteries; but, as “First Things First” says, more accommodation at Rannerdale. Provide a comfortable home for the brokendown and homeless servicemen before building an elaborate new club for those who are still able to get around and enjoy life. I know

of veterans of the 1914-1918 war living in a room, having to do for themselves. It can be a lonely existence. Rannerdale is a wonderful home. Let Usfiave it enlarged first of all —Yours, etc., HELP THOSE IN NEED. July 2. 19&“ - e •.L'7
