WORKSHOP LOST

South Brighton Fire

Fire destroyed a workshop at the back of a house at 36 Jervois street. South Brighton, last evening. The house is occupied by Mr P. Triggs. Two engines of the New Brighton Volunteer Fire Brigade answered the call at 7.44 p.m. The workshop, part of a 27ft x 12ft wooden shed, with bituminous fabric roofing, was burning fiercely when the firemen arrived. The glow ih the fog could be seen from hundreds of yards away. Pots of paint in the shed gave off black smoke. The firemen contained the fire to the workshop section of the shed, but Mr Triggs, who is i retired, lost all the tools he had gathered over many i years.
