DEMONSTRATION OF PRUNING

Cold conditions did not deter tiff more than 100 home gardeners who watched a demonstration of the pruning of fruit trees at the property of Mr J. Tullock at Papenui on Saturday morning. The demonstration was arranged by the Canterbury Horticultural Society as part of a course of lectures the society i$ giving. Demonstrators were Messrs G. Hicks and T. Wilton, of the Department of Agriculture, and the commentator was Mr W. Brandenburg, also of the Department of Agriculture. The demonstration catered specially for the small grower. Commercial methods of pruning ware not shown. Discussion and questions concluded the demonstration.
